Kick-off for joint collaboration between COMED, IMPACT-HTA and PECUNIA projects in Brussels

On May 22, 2018, the European Commission invited the coordinators of the three HTA-projects COMED, IMPACT-HTA and PECUNIA to identify topics of collaboration and plan joint activities. The three projects started in January 2018 and are funded under the topic Methods research for improved health economic evaluation, focusing on the assessment of methods, costs and outcomes of European health care systems. The results of the three projects will influence the future health systems research agenda of the EC. The coordinators Aleksandra Torbica (COMED), Panos Kanavos (IMPACT-HTA) and Judit Simon (PECUNIA) used the meeting to discuss synergies between certain work packages and plan collaborative actions including organising the projects’ final events jointly in 2020. It is expected that this will further strengthen dissemination of the results to a wide range of stakeholders including decision makers, funders, patient organisations and an interdisciplinary scientific audience and in this way increase the impact both at member state and EU level. Prof. Simon highlighted the very constructive atmosphere of the meeting and is looking forward to a fruitful exchange between the projects over the next years.
